Busy Weeks

It has been a bit of time since I have updated my BLOG so I thought I would give a few highlights:

Linda and I took Stormie back to Hot Springs and spent the weekend with Linda’s sister, Judy. We had an awesome time, enjoyed seeing Judy, Anet, and Niles. Stormie had a great two weeks with Linda and I and was a great joy to have around. Chloe and Alec went to Hot Springs with us and had a blast at the Mid-America Science Museum. The museum alone was worth the trip! Alec had a blast building, what I think, would be his dream house!

Linda has fallen in love with our new carpet and living room! That made a massive change in how our house looks!

Michael and Felicia are in their last two weeks in Tulsa. They are moving to Houston, where Felicia will be going to college. Michael will probably continue working with WalMart as a Pharmacy Tech. He is loving this job and we hope to see them a few more times before they make their way to Houston.

Speaking of jobs, Matthew will be back at EMSA soon! He completed his coursework for Paramedic and is certified now. He will be starting the new Academy next week! Congratulations, Matthew.

Jose’ is home now and is getting his life back on track. We missed Jose’ and are praying for his success.

My former Father-In-Law, Lehman Jones, was hospitalized and is undergoing treatment and testing. Lehman is 84 and is need of prayers. Lehman and Patti were long time parishioners of St. Thomas More Catholic Church and now attend St. Pius X. My friend, Fr. Boniface, O.S.B. has graciously offered Masses for his healing, for which I, Lehman and Patti are very grateful. Lehman taught at Tulsa Community College up until the Summer term. I pray that he will regain his health sufficiently to return to the classroom.

Drew should be returning to St. Gregory’s soon as a Proctor in the Honor’s Hall.

Holiday Weekend

Well, this has been a busy holiday so far, and we have two more days left!

We picked out carpet and are getting ready to have it installed next week. Of course, you can’t install new carpet without painting too! To paint, we had to strip the wallpaper in the dining room and entryway. That was going great guns until we came upon all the mold in the dining room. Now our house smells of clorox and we are back on track. We thought!

Our trip to WalMart to buy paint didn’t go so well either! We waited and waited for help in the paint department. Asked an employee for someone to come mix paint. Don’t want to bother an employee! They might have to work! We asked another employee, they said they would page someone to help. Another 5 minutes of waiting, no page and no one came. We are still waiting with 4, restless, grandchildren. I ask yet another employee, they tell me to go to the office and ask. Her English was not so good so I am not sure where the “office” was. Linda and I, after only 20 minutes of waiting, go to an office and they page a manager.

This manager gave an excuse that it is the holiday weekend. She offered to give us a can of premixed paint a 50% off. More to come…

Visit to Hot Springs

Linda and I had a wonderful visit with her sister, Judy, this past weekend. We had a chance to bring our dogs, Baron and Lilly, and they, too, seem to have had a wonderful visit as well.

I was found out that I am not a bad carpenter, not quite the example of my namesake, St. Joseph the Worker, but not too bad. I built two rails for Judy’s front and back porches and she should be able to safely enter and leave her house this upcoming winter. I am uploading a couple of pictures from our visit. As you can see, the dogs did quite well and enjoyed the visit and I was able to capture a stunning shot of Linda with the dogs atop the mountain in Hot Springs.

Anet and Niles visit in Keller

Linda, Stormy, Anet and Niles together in Keller. Anet and Niles came down to pick up Stormy, who visited Linda and J in Keller for the past two weeks. Linda and Stormy had a ‘girls night out’ last night so Stormy will probably be sleeping on the trip back to Hot Springs. Too bad that the visit took place as the house was full of boxes as we prepare for our move back to Tulsa! Next time, we will be prepared with EMPTY boxes and pictures on the walls! Niles helped J out with some ideas for how to light the new models of the Enterprise NX-01 and NCC-1701! If those ideas work out, the models will be incredible! Thanks Niles for the great ideas!
